Vance AFB JLUS Study Area

Vance AFB occupies approximately 2,000 acres within the City of Enid and is located approximately 90 miles northwest of Oklahoma City and approximately 120 miles west of Tulsa, OK. Vance AFB’s, Kegelman Auxiliary Air Force Field occupies approximately 1,000 acres in east central Alfalfa County, Oklahoma and is situated approximately 6 miles southeast of the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge and the Great Salt Plains Lake.

The Vance AFB JLUS Study Area was designed to encompass all operational areas of the installation, including Kegelman Auxiliary Field and Woodring Regional Airport, as well as all land in the vicinity that may impact current or future military operations or be impacted by those operations. The proposed Study Area of the Vance AFB JLUS is the initial area of investigation for the collection of data and information. The final Study Area will be refined based on information collected and input from the public and the JLUS communities.
